Professional Resource: Rip! A Remix Manifesto (2007) from Benjamin Thevenin on Vimeo.
My video review of the documentary film Rip! A Remix Manifesto–a co-production of Eyesteelfilm & The National Film Board of Canada (2007)–will appear in the fall issue of the Journal of Media Literacy Education. The film discusses issues regarding intellectual property and remix culture. It features a number of scholars, policymakers, artists and activists, and essentially makes the argument that we need to take a fresh look at media policies and practices in the US. It’s a great resource for media literacy practitioners, and anyone interested in or affected by cultural practice, governmental policy or economic sustainability (that’s everyone).
