Remix Unit Unveiled
Our Remix Unit has begun to take shape. Visit the site and participate in the media literacy activities: Read Abuses of Enchantment, a Harry Potter fan-fiction that addresses intellectual property laws. View The Legend of the Remix, an X-Men web-comic in which the origins of the newest member of the team, Remix, are revealed. Listen to The Blues Remixed, a mash-up of blues legends Son House, Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters as well as Led Zeppelin, Nirvana and The White Stripes. And review our Online Resources to learn more about ways in which artists, musicians, educators and others are addressing issues of Remix. We hope soon to post some fan-art, machinima, and video mash-ups up as well.
Then participate in a conversation–with us, with each other, or in an online forum–and share your own critical, creative work dealing with issues of Remix.
